The Board of Chancellors will select one or more persons to receive a scholarship grant for the scholastic year 2009-10. We ask for the following forms and documents. You are allowed to submit other information which you deem appropriate and useful.
- Include with your application form the following items:
- Application form
- Completed questionnaire
- State your GPA and include a transcript
- Letters of recommendation from your teachers, supervisors, or others who know of your capabilities, strengths, potential, accomplishments, situation, or any other information you deem appropriate. If you have any history of working for equal rights, it is important to high-light that information. We think that information on your family is important, and would like to hear about your familial situation.
- Résumé
- From the information you submit, the Board of Chancellors will review your background and qualifications.
- The Board of Chancellors will determine a point grading system before applications are actually received to help ensure that the application process is as objective as can be. There will be a possible 100 points awarded according to the established criteria.
- After reviewing all applications, the Board of Chancellors will narrow the applicants to the ones which best meet our criteria for receiving grants. The Board of Chancellors may ask for an in-person interview, and then determine which applicant(s) will receive a grant, and make their final recommendation(s) to the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors will adhere to the recommendations of the Board of Chancellors, barring the unlikely event that there is a legal conflict or fiduciary reason not to do so.
- It is the goal of the Endowment to post notice and send out a letter to all applicants notifying them of the final decision by July 15 of each year.
Applicants will be notified of the final decision by the President of the Endowment.
All scholarship recipients will be asked to provide a photo for publication on the Endowment's web site and literature.
